I covered the opening of a big padded room! It actually blocks radio waves for a big R&D company. But it was awesome.

Some assignments require a little fancy footwork. This article was about a new full-time Firefighter Academy at an Emergency Response Training Center. The problem was that there were was no firefighting training going on, there were just some training vehicles and buildings. When that happens, MAKE PRETTY PICTURES.

This gentleman told us that he had found a part of the Old Plank Road built before the Civil War on his 20,000 acre property south of Fayetteville. We went there expecting to see some actual planks, but apparently the strip of white sand was really all that was there. Sometimes you have to make a picture of…. pretty much nothing.

We had a fire in the giant trash compactor in our building at the newspaper! It was crazy. Look at the pictures, we could have died! There was about 6 square inches of newspaper on fire!

I was fortunate enough to photograph a re-interment of a confederate soldier who fought and died in the civil war. The preacher called Abraham Lincoln a godless infidel, and that the nobel southerners were fighting off the murderous, raping, pillaging, infidel New Englanders. I felt uncomfortable. So did the nice African American family who lived next to the graveyard when the preacher also said he was not ashamed that his great grandfather owned slaves.
